Have the Marriage details appear automatically in the Events list?

I know you can globally add "Marriage" to appear in the "Events", but is there any way of having that automatically add the details from the Marriage Field. It seems like a big task to manually enter every date and place for marriages in the events list (especially with nearly 4000 people in the file!)

The information from the Marriage field can automatically be included in the List - Events window. (I.e., choose Lists > Events. In the List - Events window, click on the Settings icon at the bottom and the Marriage field to be included. Also, I recommend including events with or without dates AND with or without places to see all Marriages. Afterward, click the "Update" button.

If you were wanting to see them appear in some other location, please clarify where you want them to appear and be filled in automatically.

    Thanks

      Hi Deb.

Yes, I know can I add a "Marriage" field to "Default Person Events", but what I want is to have the information recorded in the marriage section of the "Family View" also appear in each person's Event List,

The "Marriage Field" which can be added to the default person list has to be filled in manually, which means putting the date, place and notes in three times for each married couple (one for the family view, and once for each partner's events list.

The Events list is an important record of a person's life, not just their birth and death. For my near relatives, I have every step of their lives: Birth, baptism, census appearances, military service, known addresses, immigration details – it would be so nice if the details placed in the Marriage field in the Family view could automatically insert itself into the Events list.

      :-)

I will add your request to our wish list to check into implementing. As with all feature requests, I cannot make any promises as to when or if it will be implemented as we do receive many, many requests from our users. Historically, our developers have gone over those feature requests when deciding which new features to include in new versions.

I'm sorry I don't have better news for you at this point in time.
