Graduation is an Event while Education is a Fact. It probably doesn't matter that much, but I'm wondering how other users make use of these things. When a person graduates from (say) a university, I record the date and place (city, county, state & country) in the Events area. I record the type of degree in the Education fact area. Missing is the name of the university, which I guess, could be recorded in the memo area for the event but I'm not sure that it is searchable there. Optionally, I could record the Event Place as nome of university, city, county, state, country, which would make it searchable. I'm wondering if there is a better way to do this?

If I have sufficient information I treat educational experiences as periods in the person's life, events that span the time between start and end dates. The same applies to Employment, Residence, and Service of any kind. I do not record the separate starting events (enrolling, hiring, enlisting) or ending events (graduation, retirement, discharge). Reunion allows putting both into a custom from___to___ format, and I use the start date for sorting purposes. The memo field can hold details about the person's role and achievements. For me, this approach enhances the timeline. An example is shown below.
