Sound files don't appear in Web Project

Sound files that play fine in Reunion 10 do not wind up in the Web Project from same family file, only a question mark. I have tried rebuilding cache files but to no avail. Under Prefereced-Web Preferences-Reports-Media Page I do have "Sounds" selected. Any thoughts?

    Hi Frank,

Are you viewing the Web Project locally (e.g. saved it your hard drive) or did you upload it to a website? If you've uploaded it to a website would you be able to share a link with us?

Also, what web browser are you using?

    Thanks,

      Thanks,
I am looking at it locally using Internet Explorer for Mac v7.0.6. Sorry, I don't have a web site.

Please try opening the report in Safari instead, and let me know if you see the same issue there.

        Thanks!

The last version of IE for Mac was 5.2.3 many years ago. Version 6 or later is Windows only. Are you actually running Windows IE 7.0.6 using one of the Windows emulators such as Parallels? This would go a long ways toward explaining discrepancies I see above.

If Safari doesn't work, download and try Firefox.

I'm sorry, the problem I described was with Safari, not IE. I just tried Firefox, and the sound files show up- problem solved! Thank you so much!

I have Safari 7.1. Have you updated from the the Mac App Store?

Ok - the problem with Safari is most likely an issue of plugin security settings. I bet if you go to:

Safari -> Preferences... , Security, Manage Website Settings, Quicktime

and for the "Local documents" setting choose "Run in Unsafe Mode", then open the report containing the sound file in Safari, it will load just fine.

Of course, I would not suggest using Safari with that option selected. You can test it, but afterwards you should set to back to the default.
