    Hyperlinks in gedcom export

I have exported a gedcom file from my Reunion database, in order to create a TNG site. It all works well (even the geocodes) with one exception - the hyperlinks in Misc. Notes don't seem to come through as hyperlinks. I can't see the html hyperlink tag in the gedcom output, and when I look at the TNG result, the hyperlinks aren't there.

I can't find any guidance on this in the manual. Can anyone help?

    Many thanks

    Re: Hyperlinks in gedcom export

Do you have the links in Reunion just as a URL or did you make them as hyperlinked text?

Properly formed URLs in Reunion transfer by GEDCOM file to my TNG site as expected - see for example

    http://lisaandroger.com/genealogy/ge...I92&tree=Roger

but URLs created as hyperlinked text also make it in to TNG as expected - see the note here

    http://lisaandroger.com/genealogy/ge...512&tree=Roger

What is a page on your TNG site that shows the problem?

      Re: Hyperlinks in gedcom export

Thank you Roger, ever our knight in shining armour, ready to help!

      This is the Reunion site:

      http://www.michaelfamily.ch/ps45/ps45_012.htm

      hyperlinks turn out perfectly.

This is the same page in the TNG site:

      http://www.michaelfamily.ch/tngtest/...ee=mygenealogy

and none of the hyperlinks have come through.

I suppose the problem lies with the gedcom file exported from Reunion, as I donít see the usual html tags in the text. But I canít see an option in the Reunion export commands to include html tags or not.

Am computerless till the end of the week so can't correspond...

      Thanks very much Roger

        Re: Hyperlinks in gedcom export

When you get a chance can you eMail me - rogerkiwi@aol.com - a copy of your Reunion file to take a look at (and remind me what individual to look at in the file).

As noted, it works for me.

TNG should parse any string that starts with http to turn it into a link, or if you've included the href coding, TNG passes that unchanged so that the browser can create the link.
