    Dropbox on File Provider

Dropbox is offering me an upgrade to Dropbox on File Provider. I'm running Reunion 14, build 250331 on Sequoia 15.4.1 (24E263)

Dropbox claim that "Dropbox on File Provider uses Apple's updated File Provider API to more deeply integrate with macOS and fix issues related to opening online-only files in third-party applications. This update comes with changes required by the API that are outlined below...."

Are there any issues for Reunion usage with adopting this upgrade?

To ensure a smooth transition: Backup Your Data: Before upgrading, create backups of your Reunion files and ensure they are stored safely outside the Dropbox directory.
Test the Upgrade: If possible, test the Dropbox on File Provider update on a non-critical system to observe any issues.
Monitor File Links: After upgrading, verify that Reunion can access all necessary files. If links are broken, you may need to relink them manually.
Stay Informed: Keep an eye on updates from both Dropbox and Reunion for any patches or advice regarding compatibility.

If you encounter specific issues post-upgrade, consider reaching out to Reunion support or consulting the ReunionTalk forums for community assistance.

This was discussed at length when Dropbox first implemented these changes.

Your family file file should always be "Available offline" in the Dropbox settings.

Even if this Dropbox upgrade fixes the online-only issues, created by Dropbox over six years ago, there would be horrible delays when opening and working with your family file.

This page explains how to make sure your family file is available offline...

I upgraded to DropBox on File Provider some time ago with no apparent problems.

Thanks - I think I'll ignore the opportunity to update :-)
