    Locate 'Sync' File issue

I am using Reunion 14 and the latest version of ReunionTouch. My family file is stored in iCloud. I am getting a new error message that says: "Locate 'Sync' File to sync changes with the owner of this file, open the 'ReunionTouch RemoteSharing' folder in iCloud Drive and select the sync file with the same name as the family file."

As far as I know, I am the owner of the file -- I am using the same iCould account on the devices -- but cannot locate that directory. Would any one have experience solving this problem?

    Thank you very much.

The problem is due to "Remote Sharing" being on. It should be "off" when you are syncing the family file across devices all linked to the same Apple ID. To turn Remote Sharing off, open your family file on your Mac and choose File -> Sharing Status. Then, click "Remote Sharing." Next, turn Remote Sharing "Off."

Allow time for iCloud Drive to sync. Then, I recommend deleting the family file from ReunionTouch and re-downloading the family file from iCloud Drive into ReunionTouch.

I hope you find this information helpful in moving forward

      Hello @Deb.

I am having a very similar problem. I'm running the latest version of Reunion 14 on a Mac. My family file is stored in iCloud. I am getting the exact error message that user cbarrick listed asking me to locate the sync file: "Locate 'Sync' File to sync changes with the owner of this file, open the 'ReunionTouch RemoteSharing' folder in iCloud Drive and select the sync file with the same name as the family file."

When I hit locate, I can see my Reunion 14 file greyed out in a folder called Reunion Files Sync that I've had for a long time and used successfully. I can see that the file is my correct Reunion family file because I can see it was recently updated. But because it is greyed out, I can't select it.

Remote Sharing is OFF on my Mac -> Reunion -> File -> Sharing status. I am using the same Apple ID on my Mac, iPad and iPhone. This has always worked fine in the past so I'm unclear what has changed. Any thoughts?

      Thanks,
      Deena

It sounds like you had Remote Sharing turned ON at some point - even though you have it off right now.

With Remote Sharing off on your Mac, delete your family file from ReunionTouch and download it from iCloud Drive again.
