I have successfully installed v 14 on Mac Mini and opened family file, made changes, etc. All good. Family file is stored in a Dropbox folder. New laptop arrives (Macbook Air M3) and I install v 14. Launch and try to open family file (which is not currently in use on Mini). Immediate crash.

It sounds like Dropbox has not completely transferred the family file to your new MacBook.
