    Source field labels

I just advised someone to include source field labels for the fields in a certain template. But now I am wondering if the label for a field in a template carries over to the same field in other templates ... or if it is restricted just to that field in that specific template.

For example, if I add the label "Probate" to the Date field in the Will template, does that label apply only to the Date field in citations that use the Will template, or does it show up in ALL date fields in all templates?

I've found that labels are template specific.

Well, it doesn't appear to be template specific, at least not at first sight.

I just tried applying a label to the Author field in my WIll template, (label = "Will of") and now the words "Will of" appear in every endnote that uses the Author field regardless of template. That was a surprise. Fortunately I was able to undo it.

It appears that for a field label to be specific to a template, you would need to create an individual template-specific field and apply the label to just that new field. For example, a new field called "Will author" having the label "Will of " and used only in the Will template.

Unless I'm missing something here ...
