    Reunion keeps crashing

    I am in the process of exporting a GEDCOM file, but whenever I go into that function, I get the spinning wheel. I have restarted my computer, and tried a different task and pressed the edit button, and again I get the spinning wheel. Help please ...

      You are describing a busy indicator rather than a crash. Difficult to say why your Mac is busy because we do not know your hardware details and what other software or processes are in play. As a starting point have Reunion as the sole running app, make sure that it is the current version and go through the housekeeping tasks before exporting to .ged. Export to ged usually has a prompt response but try to wait a few minutes before terminating export. What is the familyfile size that you are exporting?

          The spinning ball may indicate busy or it may signify that the app has timed out. (Meaning usually that somehow the apps internal instructions are in an endless loop.) Either way, the fastest way to get out of the spinning situation is to do a Command/Option/Esc key combination. That will force quit the app then one can start troubleshooting.

              Hmm..my first suggestion would be to verify that Reunion 14 has full disk access in your Apple -> System Settings / Security & Privacy / Full Disk Access panel. If you do not see Reunion 14 listed with the other apps that do have full disk access, click the "+" under that listing of apps and enter your Mac User Account password/passcode. Then, use the window that opens to navigate to and select the Reunion 14 app in Applications. Afterward, click "Open." (If you see a message saying to quit and re-open Reunion 14, please do so.)

              If that does not help, please let me know the following...

              1. Does the same thing happen when choosing File -> Open Recent or File -> Save a Backup Copy?

              2. Where is your family file stored on your Mac?

              3. Where were you planning to save the exported file?

              The answers to these questions may be helpful in deciding the best way to move forward.
