    Dropbox and Reunion 14

I run Reunion 14 on my macbook and have for several years...I also have Dropbox for backup. I ran across the following on the Leister website: "Dropbox is faster on your desktop." Would someone enlighten me as to what is meant by this and the technological path for putting Dropbox on one's desktop. Thanks!

It's difficult to analyze that statement out of context. Maybe you could give us the link to the page that makes that statement.

How do you put files into your Dropbox? Do you always use the Web browser interface? Or are you also able to drag+drop a file from somewhere in your Documents folder into a Dropbox folder? In the latter case, you have Dropbox installed "on your desktop" (better said, you have Dropbox installed in your operating system).

Yes, do install it on your computer. When you install Dropbox on the Mac, it will create a file folder, just like your documents folder or applications folder or any other folder. To find it, in the Finder go up the file hierarchy to the folder that is your User name, the name you use when you log in. Dropbox will have created a folder inside of that. Drag your Reunion file into there. It will sync so that a copy remains on your computer and in the cloud. Changes you make on your computer are saved right away to Dropbox in the cloud, so the Dropbox file is not a backup like Time Machine, if you use that.

Before dragging your file over, please duplicate to save a backup, just in case. Always have multiple backups. Please!
