    Adding media

I'm having a problem adding media to one of my GG Grandfathers. His media only contained two census images which I have matched to the corresponding event. So there are now only the two census records as possibilities to drag & drop an item. Just today I've found Civil War records for him which I would like to place in his media but I'm darned if I can figure out how to.

i'm not sure what format you are using but I have attached many thousands to people in my tree using the .jpg format.

I clean up, crop and annotate the record before exporting them into (,jpg) and then dragging them to the media window of the people mentioned in the document. Filing them away to a folder.

Right click on the media item, reveal in finde, r brings up the original document in my records folder.

If your first and only files for the person or couple are linked to events or fact fields then that media sidebar pane no longer has a place to drop a general media item. The general media sections can always be accessed by dropping files on a person's button for a person, the marriage field for a couple, or by using one of the other methods in the manual. Once the general media section has been populated it will be available in the sidebar.

If you open the media section in the sidebar for your event images you can navigate to the empty general media section using the drop down menu in the upper left corner.

      Select media window.jpg
