    Multiple marriages

How do I record a civil marriage and then a church wedding for the same couple?

    #2
IMHO, the 1st civil marriage was the 1st and only marriage; the 2nd church "wedding" was just a ceremony for a couple already married.
Record the 1st, then note the 2nd in notes.

You can go to the Events tab in the Marriage screen, and add a second event there. This is from my file - many of these available events I've added myself

I do like Roger and place additional events surrounding a marriage, beyond the civil marriage – eg. the banns and the church service – in the Events tab.

You may need to create an additional event type to record a church wedding. If you choose the Marriage event in the Event tab, this duplicates the existing Event type that records the marriage (in the Marriage tab) as far as exporting data is concerned, and you may lose this data on export.
