    ReunionFamilyCloud - introductory pages

At https://www.reunionfamilycloud.com/rfc_sites.html each of the listed ‘hosted sites’ starts with an introductory page which includes the contents of the site and/or links to the rest of the site or to websites outside ReunionFamilyCloud. They must have been created and uploaded from Reunion (as stipulated in the Terms of Service) but I haven’t been able to work out how. Perhaps I should just continue to experiment with the various reports and files listed under Web Suitable Output in the ReunionFamilyCloud Manual. But I wonder whether the note at the bottom of that list is relevant:

Advanced feature: Some types of files can be directly uploaded by dragging and dropping them from your Mac's Finder and into the File Listing for your website.

Can anyone explain what ‘some types of files’ refers to?

I have successfully uploaded my Reunion file to the ReunionFamilyCloud service. It behaves as expected and I'm thrilled.
My next step was to create links to externally hosted videos via a link I have embedderd in a PDF. This PDF was uploaded and can be seen in a subfolder I created ( see image).

I don't see the subfolder on my content directory of the site ( see second image attached).
I am hoping someone can inform me how I can get this subfolder displayed. I guess I don't understand the structure.

From the File Listing window (shown in your screen shot) click on the Tools button (the hammer) and select “Build filelist.html”

This will create an html file listing the contents of your website. You can then give people this URL: https:/host.reunionfamilycloud.com/howland_davis/filelist.html

Thanks Gregg. That worked just fine.
Please see image of my structure attached.

Is the folder required for structure or is there a way I can create a more simple link only to the external site?

Since I asked the question on 6 July, I haven’t had time to work out how the introductory pages for the ‘hosted sites’ were created. Using Reunion, I have been able to create simple pdfs which I’m able to list in the main folder on my ReunionFamilyCloud website and which could serve as very simple introductory pages to it.

With time I hope to develop something more detailed but I’m wondering how at that stage I should be providing a link to people wanting to see the site. Will I be able to provide a simple link to it (as fisherstudios asks) or will I have to use the html file listing link that Gregg describes. A simple link directly to an introductory page on the site would be preferable. Is that possible?

When you create your web project, you can customize the web project's cover page to have an "Other Links" section linking to files (and other web projects) that are not included on the web project itself - filelisting.html could be one of those other links.

Also, make sure the file name of the web project's cover page is "index.html"

All of the above can be done in Reunion's Web Settings window under Reports. Be sure to make use of the "Web Preview" button to see how your cover page will look when the final web project is created.

If you name your cover page index.html - then the URL that you share will look like this...
