How to add death-event when no date is known

How am I able to add the fact that someone has died, when I don't know what year/date that person passed away? I read in one of the other posts that someone inputs a question mark, but that makes it look like I don't know if the person has passed away or not. Thanks!

How about unknown or just blank

The ? is a valid input into Reunion date fields, and it means "Yes, but I don't know when".

Check the Manual (under Help) and search for

Unknown date

and click on the first result to read about entering dates.

RWells thanks, but the problem is that if I leave it blank, I have no way of knowing that that person died, when looking at their entry. If I put 'unkown', I get an error message.
