    Changing location of Source files

I’d like to relocate my source files (photos, documents, etc) to a new folder on my hard drive. If I do this is that going to break the link between my family database, and those sources?

Move them, and then go to Reunion ------> Settings ------> Multimedia and Repair Multimedia Links

That should sort it all out for you.

It's difficult to give an 'absolute' answer to a question like this, but I have done what you are describing and I had no problems.

I used to store my Reunion data on my local harddrive, but I decided to move it to Dropbox.
      1. I closed Reunion
      2. I created a Reunion folder on Dropbox with subfolders for Charts, Media, Reports, WebReports, etc.
      3. I moved all my data files to the new folders
      4. I started Reunion and clicked Reunion -> Settings -> Folders and pointed each folder to it's new Dropbox location.

I would suggest you review the Settings Folders before you begin the process to refresh your memory of where all your data currently exists. And of course, make a backup before you begin.

I just did this and it worked well. Might not have gotten 100%, but it automatically fixed up most of them. Very nice feature. I was using an old Mac Mini with a very small hard disk.
So lots of stuff had to move to an external drive. Far less hassle than I feared.
