I added some text temporarily to the end of one of my surname, which persists, how can I delete this from the Name database?

I added some text temporarily to the end of one of my surname, which persists, how can I delete this from the Name database?

The first step would be to make sure those characters are no longer in any of the "Last Names" for people in your family file.

Then, to rebuild the Autocomplete lists, go into Edit Person > Name and remove the last character from a Last Name. Then, select "Rebuild autocomplete lists" from the menu that appears...

Afterward, you can re-enter the last character of that Last Name.
