    Exporting GEDCOM files

Followed the steps for exporting GEDCOM files several times. When pressing the Export Button it directs the file to a Save Document page. But there is no GEDCOM file to be found. Trying to send this GEDCOM file (using a .GED extension) to England.

At that point, the GEDCOM has not been created yet. That dialog is asking you where to save the file to when it finishes creating the file. I usually specify Desktop.

Bob, It took several attempts but finally figured out a solution. With nothing showing up on the Desktop, the two GEDCOM files were sent to the Desktop to a New Folder with Items. From there it was easy to drop each into the emails sent to the recipient in England. But your advice got me on the correct route to the solutions. Many thanks. Murr
