New option to use a comma or a semicolon between fields of source record

I haven't decided if I am ready to upgrade yet, but this one little feature might make all the difference in how I work.

Is the choice to use a semi-colon created in sources preferences or can we make that decision on the fly? I ask because for me I can't always say that I always want a semi colon or even a comma after a particular field.

That setting is in the source preferences, and is set on a per-template (e.g. Book, Newspaper, etc.) basis, not on a per-field (e.g. Author, Editor, etc.) basis. That is, each template will use either a comma or a semicolon between the fields included in that template, you can't have a mix of different delimiters for the same template.
