Best use of Sources

While considering the Family tab of Sources sidebar, I notice how many times the same Source showed in each Person. Is Sourcing individual Events a Best Practice? Or, should I consider rolling up the Source to the Person?

The function of a source is to answer the question, 'and how do we know that THAT is true; what's the evidence?' Ideally this question should be asked and answered for each and every factual detail. IMO it cannot sensibly be applied to an entire person.
