How to delete a URL from "Memo" field of an Event date and place

Big oops. At some point I copied and pasted a url into the memo field of an event ... it's the only thing in that memo field. I'd like to get it out of there, but just touching it with the cursor opens it of course! Really don't want it there. should never have been there. Suggestion?

If you tab into the memo field, rather than clicking on it directly, you will be able to select the URL text and delete it. In other words, click in the "place" part of the event, then hit the tab key.
