Last name appearing in all caps

I've entered two new persons and the last name comes up with all caps and can't get rid of it. I tried removing the name and rebuilding the last name list, but none of that works. Please help.

Did you go to Top Left and Change>Case>Last names>UPPERCASE and Convert?

I did - but every time I add a new person, the last name comes in caps. I can't figure out where to change that.

Is the "Last Name UPPERCASE" box checked in Edit Person / Name?...

        If so, uncheck that box.

Apparently it was. I had never run into that issue before. Thank you.

I have the opposite problem - some family names I have imported from a gedcom show in lower case despite the upper case box being ticked. Have not found any way to change them to upper case. Have tried turning it of and then on again.
            Thanks

The "Last Name UPPERCASE" box will be applied to last names being entered or edited in the Edit Person / Name. (I.e., the change is applied when tabbing out of the field or clicking Done in Edit Person / Name.) It does not apply to names that are imported.

However, you can change all last names to UPPERCASE by choosing Change (in the navbar on the left) and selecting Case. Then, select the appropriate options to convert "Last Names" to "UPPERCASE" as shown here...

              Finally, click Convert.

I hope you find this information helpful

Thanks Deb - I had missed the 'change' function - all good now
