Problem with web card search function

I obtained it some time ago but have only just started using Reunion 12.

The search function on Web cards seems erratic. Searching for some common names in the data base will sometimes return no results or a very incomplete list. The names appear in the json file. I there a time-out or the like on the search function?

    e.g. see https://moadstorage.blob.core.windows.net/$web/Moad_Oates/wc01/wc01_014.html

search for "moad" the number od hits varies.

I have found what is happening. I have several databases each in their own folder. The search function seems not always to look at the right index.json file?

I don't know about the other databases, but the one you linked to has an issue that's causing the JSON file not to load properly.

You should go to Catherine Byrne (ca 1821 - 1892) in the family file that's used to generate the linked web project and use Command+A to select everything in her First & Mid Name field, then press Delete on your keyboard to delete it, then re-enter her first name and regenerate the web project.

It appears there's a hidden character in her first name field that is causing the JSON parsing to fail. The above steps should remove it.

If you can link to the other web projects I may be able to find the issues with them. However, I don't believe the problem is that the web projects are loading the wrong JSON file - at least not from what I'm seeing with the linked project.

I will try your suggestion (when I get my file back). THe web projects are as follows

        https://moadstorage.blob.core.windows.net/$web/Winzor_Stevens/wc01/wc01_005.html

This one behaves as it should, search function works OK.

These web projects behave as if they attach the same JSON as the above in terms of what appears in the dropdown .

        https://moadstorage.blob.core.windows.net/$web/Pharo%20Stephens/wc02/wc02_330.html
https://moadstorage.blob.core.windows.net/$web/Moad_Oates/wc01/wc01_014.html (the one mention in message above)
        https://moadstorage.blob.core.windows.net/$web/Lehmann_Henschke/index.html

I thought it might be a cache problem, so have tried looking at the web files with different computers with different browsers, but with the same result.

Maybe Microsoft Azure does something unusual. in the way it handles files?

These two appear to have nearly the same JSON file - there's two differences between the two JSON files, one appears to be the change to Catherine Byrne that I suggested making in my previous post and the other appears to be an addition of a new person.

It looks like the index.json file actually belongs to the Moad_Oates one but is being used for the Pharo Stephens one as well. I'd be interested to see both of these web projects before they get uploaded -- if you could recreate these two web projects on your Mac and send them to me I'd appreciate it. You can send them using the steps in this FAQ for sending family files:

          https://www.leisterpro.com/doc/v12/q...ers/sendff.php

Just compress the whole web project folder into a ZIP where it says to compress the family file into a ZIP.

As far as I can tell the JSON file for this one appears to be correct for the web project. It is a rather large JSON file and so the search takes a while to load, but I'm not seeing entries from the other two web projects in this one - at least not from a quick check. If you can point me towards someone that appears in the search results that shouldn't, that would be helpful.
