Problem Removing Citations

Hi,
I've been trying to remove citations from the Name field in Family View. When I click on the name i get a long list of citations which I would like to reduce to only 1 or 2. When I right click on the citation I get the option to "Remove Citation" which does remove the citation from the list. HOWEVER, when I click to return to Family View the citation superscript is still there beside the name and reclicking on the name shows that citation still in the list. I don't want to totally remove the source as it is used elsewhere, only the citation.
Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong?

Do Not right click. Select the source under "Source Citation: Names" and then select "Remove Source"
This does not remove the Source from the Source List, it just removes the "Source Citation" from that name.
