    Determining numbers of grandparents

I have nearly 4000 people in one Tree, back to 11 x gt grandparents. Obviously the further back I go the less likely it is that I have found every grandparent that I 'should' have. I want to know how many in each generation I have managed to find through my research. It's easy for the first few generations as I can look in pedigree view and count. But further back I can't do that. There is no Report that I can see to help unless I plough through dozens of pages and count. Is there any way to quickly identify the numbers of grandparents in each generation? I thought Treetops would help, but it doesn't. For some reason Treetops shows different values for each generation to the ones I actually have in the Tree.

You can list the Relatives of yourself, and then look at the Listing of Relatives. Each generation of grandparents is listed separately and tells you how many there are of each type of Grandparent. All you need to do is figure out how many of each type you should have

Thanks. That is at least a method I can use, but still time consuming and rather prone to error if I lose count! I've found a piece of software that can analyse the Tree from a Gedcom and gives me a summary. Much quicker!

You do not need to count. In the Relatives Side Bar, it gives the count for each type of Relative. In my tree, there are lines that look like " 15G Grandfather - 13 ", which counts the entries for me.
