Copying a partial tree from one tree to another

I want to copy part of a tree from a specific person back in time and then paste the copied branch into another tree.

the branch I want to copy has about 500 linked people and the remainder of the tree has about 2000 entries, so you can see I do not really want to delete individuals on a one by one basis.

If this can be done in Reunion I cannot see how to do it?

Unmark the original tree and mark the part of the tree you want to copy.
File/Export/Family Tree/Marked individuals and spouses will create a new branch family tree.
    Open the target family tree.
File/Import/Family Tree will copy the branch family tree into the target family tree.

This is excellent advice, but add to that making a backup copy of both files before doing the import. Also, after doing it, go through and check that everyone you wanted made the trip, as well as the appropriate "Sources".
