Can't make new sources

I am trying to make new sources. Reunion 12 lets me fill in the new source but does not allow me to have it in my list. This is the second time this has happened to me. I thought I knew how to correct this. But now it has happened again and I have enough storage space. My Mac OS is 10.13.6.

Are you referring to the list in the Sources sidebar, or some other list (e.g. the list of citations in the Edit Person screen)?
