Age at death

I am setting up an ancestor chart which will record the name and cause of death. I would like to show the 'age at death' but not necessarily their full dates.

I have looked in the layout settings but cannot see this option.

Any suggestions please?

Hi Margaret,

You can include the age at death along with just the birth and death years, if that works for your needs.

To do that, go into the layout for the Ancestor report and uncheck the birth and death fields under "Person Files", then go to "Name Setup" and select one of the options that includes (b - d). Under "Dates", select the option that just displays the years.

Then, go to "Event Format" and check "Include ages with events".

The result will look something like this:

John Vernou BOUVIER III (1891 - 1957) age: 66

Where the "Age" is the age at death.

I wasn't going to bother with the years but will have a play with this and see what it looks like.
