My brother-in-law has more descendant information on his reunion than I do and I would like to import it. How do I do this without 1) duplicating all our common information 2) not importing his wife's tree.

Thanks for help....be specific since I am not a great techie!

    The process is, essentially:
[1] mark all the individuals in his file that you want to import.
[2] export only the marked individuals to a (new) familyfile
[3] import that familyfile into your familyfile.

You will probably have to "mark" some of them individually, but you can also "mark" them in batches (say, all the descendants of your brother-in-law).

If you search the manual for "mark" the first page to pop up will be "Marking Groups of People" which should help you. You can always ask for more detail here if you need more explanation.
