    Direct Lines Bold

    Hi,

I am trying to mark the descendants of a fore bearer bold. When I go to Change>Direct Lines Bold and select "Make all children plain", select the ancestor radio button and then "OK", the cursor has that processing symbol but nothing appears to happen. When I manually "Bold" a person it appears bold.

I am on a Mac and have checked the Children family card setting. I have it on the default values but they don't appear bold.

    Thanks,

    Francis.

    Re: Direct Lines Bold

Before you choose Change > Direct Lines Bold, be sure that you're in the family view of somebody who is a descendant of the ancestor. For example, navigate until you see yourself in the family view, and then choose Change > Direct Lines Bold.

The Direct Lines Bold feature moves backwards in time, not forwards.

I can't tell for certain from your post, but you may be at the ancestor's record and choosing Direct Lines Bold. If that ancestor has no ancestors (recorded in your family file) then clicking OK wouldn't make anybody bold.
