Connect direct family lines

I'm new with Reunion and all was well, then I must have done something, because now when I try to add members from the family list I get the person with their spouse and children, but not with their parents, or vice versa. It is driving me crazy, and I don't want to have to start over. Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks!!

What happens if you navigate to the parents, then click-drag one of their children from the People sidebar into the Children area of the Family View?
