Creating a website and uploading

I have an extensive tree with close to 7000 entries which I would like to share with family and relatives. I was thinking of creating a website and uploading my Reunion tree to the web page which could then be accessed by anyone. I would like maintain security of my tree so that it is read only and unable to be edited by anyone except me unless I give someone permission by way of a password.

Is this possible?

I'd be very appreciative of any help, suggestions or comments.
