I have two family files that have both been modified on separate computers. The changes can be separated by a marriage. That is, one set of changes are on the husband's side and the other set of changes are on the wife's side of the family. The overall file covers several thousand individuals but the actual changes are on only a very small set. I'd like to bring these back together and have a single working file. One way I thought of was to delete all individuals in the husbands family for one file and to do the same with the wife's family in the other followed by merging the two and connecting by their marriage. Is there a better way to do this?

Open file #2, Import the other Family File, Marked people only.
Match & Merge marked people with unmarked people.
Match & Merge is much better than it used to be! But make a copy of the file #2 before you start - or maybe copy both files, while you're about it.

Jamie.
