Batch change all birth- and death date

    Hello,

I want to do a search for all people without a birth and/or death date and fill the empty fields with a '?'.

Anyone some tip how I can do this easily?

I thought about this as a personal challenge and came up with the answer, "there's no easy way to do it." It would be nice if I'm wrong.

If I had to do it, this would be my method:

    - Find Birth Date | Is | [blank]
    - Click on the first person in the results list
    - Click on the person in the family view, and add "?" to their birthdate
    - Highlight the "?" and copy it
    - Without leaving the edit view, click on the next person in the list
    - Type Cmd-V with your left hand to paste "?" into the new blank field
    - Click on the next person and type Cmd-V
    - Repeat to the bottom of the list
    - Find Death Date | Is | [blank] and repeat entire process for "?" in death date field

This would be tedious, but better than R9.

When I see your question, it is (in my opinion) not a wise idea to add a questionmark in the situations you describe. Think that there are no benefits at all, only drawbacks.
      My advice, don't do that.

          One more question.

The reason I wanted to use a '?' is that it helps me searching for people and the information I need to find.

For example. A couple is married but the date is unknown. I set the status to 'married' but do not know the date. This way the 'married' button on the family view is empty. When I add a source only the source number is visible.

What is the best practice for this sort of issues?
