I have 5 Islands. The 5th consists of 1 person. When I check the record, this person has parents and grandparents. Why is he isolated?

Re: Islands
There are two possibilities here:
1 - The caches are out of date. Try rebuilding caches via:
File -> Rebuild Cache Files...
And see if the problem persists.
2 - There is a linking issue in the family file that's causing Reunion to think he's unlinked. One way to try fixing this (aside from sending the file to us for repair) would be to unlink him from his parents, then re-link him.

Re: Islands
I deleted and re-added him and then looked at Islands. Island 1 is down one number but Island 5 where he was all alone is gone. His name shows under Island 1 with parents, etc. That's good.
Does having separate Islands mean I have 4 groups of people without a common person between them? Or the connection is beyond calculation (like 60,000 degrees of separation

Re: Islands
Yes -- it means that all the people in those 4 islands are connected to each other somehow, but are not connected with the other islands.Originally posted by macRBC View PostDoes having separate Islands mean I have 4 groups of people without a common person between them?

Re: Islands
Island 1, the largest, (>20,000) is the one I find my name. So, somewhere in the 60,000 degrees of separation, blood or marriage, I connect to them.Originally posted by Mark View PostYes -- it means that all the people in those 4 islands are connected to each other somehow, but are not connected with the other islands.

HOWEVER, there's 145 people leftover. I wouldn't have "just added them" so any suggestions of where to start finding the missing link? They break down into 3 Islands (66; 45; 34 respectively).====

Re: Islands
You might have added them and then later the link was broken. The easiest solution is just to look at the names and try to remember who they should connect to.Originally posted by macRBC View Postthere's 145 people leftover.
