    register numbers

I'm using register numbers in the form (x(y) where x is the generation and y the number of the person in that generation. (Reunion generates these.) When I mention a person's name in a note I like to give their register number (e.g. John Smith (3(19)). The only way I can find to obtain the register number for someone is to exit the note and navigate to their family card, then I have to navigate back to the note.

Is there an easier way to find the register numbers for individuals in my file?

    Thanks,

    Re: register numbers

    Hi David,

One option would be to open the People List window (from the Lists entry in the Navbar at left) and either add a new column and set it to display the numbers, or set an existing column to display the numbers.

For details on adding new columns and setting what field is shown in a column, click the ? at bottom-left of the People List window and, in the manual page that opens, go to the section titled "Columns and Fields in the List Window".
