Finding people with no notes

Am trying to find people with no notes; i.e. no additional details, comments on research, etc. Did Find notes does not contain e; that found some but by no means all. Surely there must be some way to do this but it eludes me.......

Use the Find feature, and set up a condition like this:

Misc Notes — Is — [leave the field empty]
