    Geocodes, why?

As I'm entering geocodes for all my locations, I'm wondering why Reunion has this feature (which I appreciate) as unless I'm overlooking something (quite possible, still learning) I don't see where the program uses this information for anything?

I would suggest that you open the manual and go to the subject Places.

There is an arrow on the Place field of the Events screen where you can cause a geocoding to be made. And you can "Map all places for this person" on the person screen.

But I have not seen any Report or web page that uses the information. And the built-in help doesn't go into any details of how it could be used.

Ah, thank you Bob. I completely overlooked the "Map All Places" for this person option. I see now that it opens a google map showing all the places my ancestor has been geocoded to.

        Nifty!
