    Surnames changed on marriage

Both my son and his wife changed their surnames on marriage. Son by adopting his wife surname hyphenated. So Son is now Cohen-Judd, and his wife changed from
    Cohen to Cohen-Judd.
How should this be treated on Reunion. Their daughter will be also entered as surname Cohen-Judd. Could it be entered in Marriage details/ note etc

You could use the Married Name fact field or in Marriage Notes.

You could add the "Name Change" event.

I've handled this by putting their birth surname in these [brackets].

        For example:
born Jane Smith and John Doe, decided to use the surname Jones after they married.
        [Smith] Jones, Jane
        [Doe] Jones, John
Jane will now show up in a list of Smiths or Jones and John will show up in a list of Does or Jones.

If I think I need any extra info explaining the name change, I put it in a misc note or make it part of the source info.
