URL Facts (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc) arenʻt included in Exports

It would be very helpful to include Facts such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and others in an Export file. For privacy concerns, whether to include these could be an option.

Before asking other questions, please let me know what specific type of export is being done?

Just File > Export > Gedcom

I’m working on my own app for a specialized graphic. In olden days there was AppleEvents for two apps to communicate, but I don’t think Apple does that any more. And I’m assuming you’re keeping your file format private.

      Thank you!

Okay. My first recommendation would be to verify that URL fact field is selected to be exported in the "Optional Fields" tab of the File -> Export -> GEDCOM window...

I.e., click on Optional Fields at the top of that window. Then, make sure the URL field is checked. (Scroll, if needed, through the listing of files in that window.)

Note: if the URL fact field is not included, perhaps a GEDCOM tag was never assigned to that field when it was set up. (That field is not one of Reunion's pre-defined fields.)

To check for a GEDCOM tag for that field, choose Reunion -> Settings and click on Fields. Then, click on the Person and Facts tabs. Next, select the URL fact field. If there is no GEDCOM tag associated with that field, please assign one. Perhaps use...

My bad! I had not attached a GEDCOM tag to my website fields. Iʻve now set their tags to URI (which seems to be the emerging standard for links) and now the export works just fine! This is nifty for including things like Ancestry "Facts" pages and Find-a-Grave pages. Iʻm also happy to see that it for multiple defined fields all using URI that they all appear in the exported file.

Thank you for the education, Deb!
