    Web Page

I am working on creating a Web page for my genealogy. I have worked on the web project and have it the way I want for now.

Here are 3 of the items that I consider a must.

    1. Ability to upload the Reunion Web Project and link to it.
    2. Ability to upload a zipped copy of the Web Project and give users the ability to download it.
    3. Ability to have both a public and private copy of the Web Project with password protection on the private copy.

I have looked several host and am leaning toward Wordpress or Wix.

Can anyone share their web page that use any of these 3 host? Especially if you use any of the upload and download abilities. Here is a sample of a web site that I like it includes all but the download. https://genealogy.antipole.co.uk/pages/

    Thanks
    Roger

I have finally gotten my web site up and running. I decided to use WordPress because my daughter's recommendation. I made some changes to what I considered a must. Here is a link if you are interested.

Give me your comments good or bad.

      Roger.
      I think it looks great.

I have a few comments for you.
      * on the 'home" page, clicking the title just reloads the home page. I'd delete that self-link.
      * the second page, with the wedding photo, is nice but the "get started and enjoy" link isn't very eye-catching
      * why not make a giant link, large text, big button, or something that points to https://www.rwfamilyhistory.net/wp-c.../wc02_163.html
      * in other words, I had to click several times before I finally saw Clarence and Suda Grace

Again, it looks great. I hope this is constructive feedback. Not trying to detract from your wonderful database.

Thanks for your feedback. I agree with both. I have already made the change for the button on the second page. It will be fixed when I download the next update. And will make the change to the title to not be a link.

Again Thanks for the suggestions it was what I was hoping for.

Kirk Well it looks like removing that link is harder than I thought. So far I have not found a way to do that. Any suggestions?

            Sorry, no clue.

It's not a huge deal ; I just thought it was a little confusing because it doesn't "go" anywhere.

Yes it is somewhat confusing but I checked other Wordpress genealogy websites and they had the same action if you clicked the site header. I talked to my daughter who works with wp a lot and she said that it seemed to be a built in function of wp. So I am not going to worry much about it but will look as I have time.

              Again thanks

                Your www.rwfamilyhistory.net is using

                <a class="home-link" href="https://www.rwfamilyhistory.net/" title="Rakes and Wells Family History" rel="home">

                Try a home-link replacing "https://www.rwfamilyhistory.net/" i.e.

                "https://www.rwfamilyhistory.net/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/AMember/AStart.html" in the above?

That is the link behind the 'View our Genealogy' button but I do not know how that interacts with your style sheets.
