Move marked people from one island to another

I have some people that I would like to keep but are questionable. I would like to those people to a different island. I could not find anything in the document or this forum.

An island is made up of people linked to each other. If you remove the link(s) from the people in the new island to all other people, you will create a new island .

I am not sure how to remove the link from the people. I moved all the children from the person wrong mother and removed the marriage record, but the wrong mother and her ancestors still appear in the main island.

Try finding relatives for the wrong mother to see who all Reunion thinks she is related to. To do this, control-click on her name button (on the family view) and select Find Relatives from the menu that appears. Perhaps that will be helpful in determining how she is still connected?

If you’re looking to “move” questionable people to a different island in your tree, that’s actually a common strategy for ambiguous cases. For example, the 1910 U.S. Census from New Orleans lists boarders with names like “Another Time” and “Black Diamond” — clearly pseudonyms — with all other fields marked “unknown” (FamilySearch: https://www.familysearch.org/en/home/portal/ )

You could group such individuals into a placeholder branch or note them as “Unlinked Individuals” until more is confirmed. Just be sure to use custom notes or flags to track what makes them uncertain. You’re definitely not alone — we all have a few mystery folks in the tree!

When I control-click on the wrong mother and Find Relatives, some of the people listed Have a check mark but most do not. If I do a find relatives of the checked names with the source person, I get the related information on some of them but not all.

Do I need to check all the names in the Relatives list or only the checked names?

Why do some of the checked names show No Relationship?

It may be helpful to check all of the names?

Most likely, you are seeing "no relationship" due to the two people being compared having no blood relationship to each other (or not being the spouse of blood relative). But, in order to say for certain, I will need to see your family file. Information on how to send it to me is found here...

When I perform Find Relatives of the wrong mother, in the Relatives list generated, there are 5 names with a checkmark. What is the checkmark suppose to be telling me?

I think I have it figured out. It appears the names with checkmark and not directly related to the source person but are married to someone that is related to the source person.
