Having Reunion family files in Dropbox automatically sends all the associated multimedia files into your Dropbox Photos folder – or so it would appear. Am I right in thinking there’s no way to avoid this? It fills up my Photos folder with hundreds of images which get in the way if you occasionally want to use the folder for a purpose unrelated to family history.

Are you referring to the "Photos" entry listed on the Dropbox website? If so, note that this is just a listing of all of the photos that are in your Dropbox folder. It is not an actual folder on your Dropbox.

If that is what you're referring to, click on one of the photos (that are part of your family file) under Photos on the Dropbox website, then click the three dots that appear at top-right of the page and select "Exclude from Timeline..."

In the window that opens you should see a drop-down, use that drop-down to select your family file (it will look like a folder and should end in ".familyfile11") then click "Exclude".

Yes, that is what I was referring to, and yes, I clearly misunderstood the setup. It appears I must use the Albums feature for the purpose I have in mind.
Many thanks for your help.
