    New Laptop - transfer data

I had Reunion 11 running on my old laptop and now I have a new laptop. Because of the new releases, the Apple Store didn't have time to transfer my data, but I've been finding all my stuff due to the cloud. I do have a back up disc, but I was thinking it may be more expedient to just download Reunion 11 to the new laptop, then do I just click on the family file in Dropbox??

Or do I do something different?

    thank you
    Janine

Yes. This would work as long as your Reunion 11 family is already in Dropbox.

Note: the first time you start up Reunion, you will be prompted to enter your license information. If you no longer have access to your Reunion license information, it can be requested by clicking the "lost your license?" link on our home page...

Be sure to allow a few minutes for Dropbox to finish syncing before opening your family file.

Incidentally, for easy access to your family file, I recommend two things: adjusting the Folder preferences in Reunion to point to your Dropbox folder and keeping the Reunion 11 icon on your Dock.

To adjust the Folder preferences in Reunion 11 follow these steps…

    1. Open your family file in Dropbox.

    2. Choose Reunion -> Preferences and click on the Folders icon.

    3. Click on "Family Files" on the left.

    4. On the right, click the "Choose other folder…" button.

    5. In the far left column of the window that drops down, click on "Dropbox."

    6. Click "Select" in the lower-right.

To keep the Reunion 11 icon on your Dock, "Control-click" (or right-click) on the Reunion 11 icon on your Dock and choose Options -> Keep in Dock from the menu that open.

I hope you find this information helpful in moving forward
