I am a relatively new genealogist for a large family association which has over 35000 entries. I am using Reunion 9.0C. There are many in the association with more experience and I recently received a GEDCOM/family file with about 1600 corrections/additions. I saved a copy of that file ("Elizabeth") and a copy of my database (BFA2012), then imported Elizabeth. I believe that all of the Elizabeth data is more accurate and I want to keep that data.
I have played around with the Match/Merge options and they are great. Except for the problem of the user and person IDs. In merging the more accurate Elizabeth information into BFA2012, I want to retain the User ID and if possible the Person ID numbers from the large database.
The association has kept an ongoing index of User ID# by which we identify each other and our ancestors.
Need to fix this very soon -- annual reunion coming up!!!!
