    Moving multimedia files

The manual makes it really clear that it's possible to move multimedia files with no problem:

"Once a multimedia file is linked to a person, family, or source record, the multimedia file can be moved and/or renamed on the same hard drive and Reunion will automatically keep track of the file. Thus you won't be breaking links to the original picture files if you reorganize or rename them in the Finder. You don't need to manually relink pictures or tell Reunion where they've gone — if the files still reside somewhere on the same hard drive"

BUT....I just moved a pdf attached to a source, and it can't find it. When I try to open the pdf from the source window, I'm asked to locate it.

Any ideas what could be going on here?

    Thanks!

If you go to Reunion Preferences ------> Multimedia ------> Repair Multimedia Links can Reunion find all the files?

You can also add the folder that you moved the PDF file to into the "Multimedia Search Folders" section.

I have a large number photographs in folders which are getting way too full. I'd like to divide them up a little more. So am I right to believe that if I move some photographs out their current file to another file, Reunion will find them. Or it will if I click on Repair Multimedia Links that'll relink them? I guess I need the new files in the same area as my current photograph files.

You can move them to wherever you want them to be, and Reunion should be able to keep track of them.
