    Cleaning up clipboard

I'd like to clear out my clipboard, as I have a lot of people in it that were the wrong line and I had to delete from the active file. I created a report that shows all the unlinked individuals in my families and started to check them against the clipboard and I discovered there are a number that are in the clipboard that have a 'linked' graphic in front of them. In checking all of them, some are actually in my family and should not appear in the clipboard. I thought there might be a merge situation, but that is not the case.

    1) how do I get those out of the clipboard?
    2) how do I delete the clipboard when I have it cleaned up.

I'd rather have to research individuals again than to have to deal with the large clipboard. I've tried dragging the one in the clipboard back to the parent (even though it is already shown) and I get a message that the person is already the child of the parent.

There are two kinds of things that can be in the clipboard: [1] people, and [2] links. Deleting a link to a person doesn't delete that person. When the clipboard is open, you can select which links to remove and which people to remove by selecting them and choosing "Remove Selected Link from Clipboard" or "Delete Selected Person..."

More info in the manual if you search for "Deleting People and Removing Links from the Clipboard".

You don't "delete" the clipboard; it's always there. You can delete everything in the clipboard, and then you have an empty clipboard, which you can do by selecting "Clear Clipboard..." from the clipboard tools menu.
