    Ship Passenger Record

Out of curiosity, what event type do you guys use/create to show travel between two countries? I thought about using Immigration, but it's not quite right. Then I thought about creating an event called Arrival - but then you need a departure event too, which could get confusing especially given that my ancestors were merchant seamen - there would be many events. Just wondering what everyone else does. Thanks.

Use an emigration record and an immigration record - since you specifically mention ship, it's unlikely both events were on the same day.

I have many ancestors who travelled on ships both for work and pleasure. Using Emigration and Immigration as the event type would be wrong for me as I know in the majority of cases , that wasn't happening. So I created a new event called travel and used that instead

Thank you both. I may indeed use travel since I would like to distinguish the actual passenger lists for when they actually decided to immigrate and when they were just sailing for work.
