I'm carrying out a survey on the origin and meaning of first/given names. If you have the time I invite you to fill out the form online here:

http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dGJRZ1E3WnlUSUxVX0tuR3dOMzNCbHc6M A

You can fill out the form as many times as you like. Please feel free to add information on your own name, the names of your family members, etc. If you can, please share this survey with other people you think might be interested. I'm trying to collect as much data as possible on first names, and the more people that fill out the survey, the better.

If you're on Facebook, you can join a group discussing the origin and meaning of first names here:

Thank you,

Philip Trauring

Obviously, my interests are primarily in the UK

I know about the various web sites, but in my experience many people have different information and different interpretations of names. Even among the big web sites there is a wide variety of information out there. This is an attempt at 'crowdsourcing' a better quality of information on first names.
