Mark Tucker at www.thinkgenealogy.com has been presenting a proposed "standard" means of sharing citation information between online sources and genealogy software.

While this sounds like a dry and technical subject, having a standard method for handling sourcing info would save those researchers who use citations a lot of typing, and ultimately it should promote the practice of properly citing sources.

Mark has a short video presentation showing how this process would work, and a survey he is conducting to gauge interest and hopefully compel the online genealogy services and genealogy software community to move towards creating and adopting a standard citations handling system.
