Yes, keep your family file in your own Documents folder instead of in the default Reunion folder.

Another advantage is that your Reunion files are backed up at the same time as the rest of your documents folder.

IMO the location of the default folder for family files should be defined by the user, especially since the release of OS X. There was a thread about this some time ago.
I second this - Reunion's insistence that it knows best where to keep my data has been a thorn in my side ever since I stated using it.

It even overrides DefaultFolder!

Perhaps the next version will containa a preference that will enable us to nominate a default folder for our data, even if Leister cannot bring themselves to leave it entirely to our discretion?
